Indoor hydrotherapy baths equipped with jets that mixed air and water were first introduced in the early 1960s. People soon discovered that the baths were not only therapeutic, but relaxing and pleasurable as well. The jets were quickly adapted to wooden hot tubs and the spa industry was born.
By the late 1960s the first fiberglass spa was introduced. These early models were crude by today's standards of style and quality.
